TB Screening Camp – Pre-Camp Activity and Micro Planning

  1. Document Purpose

This document defines the business requirements for conducting pre-camp activities and micro planning for village-level TB screening camps.

The purpose of the pre-camp activity is to collect and validate key administrative, health-system, village, household, and population information required to determine the operational requirements of the TB screening camp.

  • The number of households to be enumerated.
  • The number of enumeration days required.
  • The estimated village population to be screened.
  • The number of screening camp days required.
  • The operational resources and teams required for the camp.
  1. Business Background

TB screening camps are planned and organized in villages based on the estimated population of the village and the expected screening capacity of the deployed team.

Before organizing a TB screening camp, a pre-camp activity shall be conducted to support detailed micro planning.

  1. Micro Planning Requirements

The system shall provide a dedicated micro-planning section based on the pre-camp information.

7.1 Enumeration Planning

The following information shall be used:

  • Estimated Total Households.
  • Estimated Households Targeted per Team per Day for Enumeration.

The enumeration team shall consist of 4 members as the standard team size.

The household enumeration capacity shall be configurable to accommodate operational variations.

Formula

Total Days Required for Enumeration =

Estimated Total Households ÷ Estimated Households Targeted per Team per Day

The resulting value shall be rounded up to the next whole number because enumeration cannot be planned for a fraction of a day.

Example

If:

  • Estimated households = 1,000
  • Target households per team/day = 200

Then:

1,000 ÷ 200 = 5 days

Therefore, 5 enumeration days are required.

If the result is 5.2 days, the system shall calculate 6 days.

  1. TB Screening Camp Planning

The system shall calculate the expected number of camp days based on the estimated village population and screening capacity.

Inputs

  • Estimated Total Village Population.
  • Estimated Beneficiaries Targeted per Team per Day for Screening.

Formula

Total Days Required for Organizing Camp =

Estimated Total Village Population ÷ Estimated Beneficiaries Targeted per Team per Day for Screening

The calculated value shall be rounded up to the next whole number.

Example

If:

  • Estimated population = 4,500
  • Screening target per team/day = 300

Then:

4,500 ÷ 300 = 15 days

Therefore, 15 screening camp days are required.

If the calculated value is 15.1 days, the system shall display 16 days.

  1. Business Rules

BR-01 – Mandatory Village Information

A pre-camp activity cannot be finalized without the required administrative, health facility, village, household, and population information.

BR-02 – Positive Values

Estimated household and population values shall be greater than zero.

BR-03 – Enumeration Capacity

Enumeration target per team per day shall be greater than zero.

BR-04 – Screening Capacity

Screening target per team per day shall be greater than zero.

BR-05 – Enumeration Team

The standard enumeration team shall consist of four members.

BR-06 – Configurable Capacity

The household enumeration and beneficiary screening targets shall be configurable based on operational requirements.

BR-07 – Automatic Calculation

The system shall automatically calculate the number of enumeration days and screening camp days whenever the relevant inputs are entered or changed.

BR-08 – Rounding

Any fractional number of days shall be rounded up to the next whole day.

BR-09 – Recalculation

If estimated households, estimated population, enumeration capacity, or screening capacity is changed, the system shall recalculate the corresponding number of days.

BR-10 – Planning Review

The calculated planning information shall be reviewed and confirmed by an authorized user before the camp is finalized.

  1. Expected Business Outcome

The pre-camp and micro-planning module shall provide a standardized planning mechanism that enables the program team to determine the expected operational duration of village enumeration and TB screening activities based on measurable village-level requirements.

The module shall reduce dependency on manual calculations and support consistent, transparent, and data-driven camp planning.

  1. High-Level Business Workflow

Create/Select Village → Capture Pre-Camp Information → Capture Household & Population Estimates → Define Enumeration Capacity → Calculate Enumeration Days → Define Screening Capacity → Calculate Screening Camp Days → Review Micro Plan → Confirm Camp Plan
